ELECTRIC vehicles will be showcased at an annual North-East event for engineering and manufacturing today.
Wearside-based Smith Electric Vehicles, the world’s largest producer of electric vans and trucks, and Cramlington firm AVID Vehicles, will be displaying vehicles at Oktoberfest 2010.
The event, a celebration of North-East industry and innovation, will be attended by hundreds of industry delegates and major buyers including Husqvarna, Caterpillar, BAE Systems and the Ministry of Defence.
The main speaker will be Paul Callaghan, chairman and founder of Leighton, the technology, software, media and communications group.
