A PRINT company has put itself into the top one per cent of businesses nationally after receiving an award.

Statexcolourprint, which employs 90 staff in Newcastle, has received an Investors in People (IiP) bronze award.

Twenty-four of its staff are undertaking various NVQs and it has recently invested £1.5m in a press from Germany.

The company’s finance and HR director, Sue Maitland, said: “Only one per cent of businesses or organisations across the country achieve the bronze award.

“Not only is this process highly beneficial for staff morale, prospects and development, but it’s also a feather in our cap for stakeholders and clients to see a strong organisation moving forward together.”

The Investors in People bronze award is for inspirational employers demonstrating clear leadership.

IiP assessments are rigorous and detailed, looking for evidence that the whole company is committed and that the culture and ethos of improvement and service is embedded within the organisation.

statexcolourprint has been involved in IiP since 2004 and will be aiming to achieve its silver standard this summer.
