BUILDERS’ merchant JT Dove enlisted the help of an 11-year-old to design part of the landscaping display in its £1.5m Teesside outlet.
Following a visit to the Stockton branch by children at Norton Nursery and Kids Zone After-School Club, JT Dove appointed Gabrielle Oxley as senior designer of the block-paving section.
As a result of the visit, the company set the children a challenge to design part of its landscaping display.
Branch manager Martin Jakolins said: “The children had such a brilliant time during their visit to the branch, we decided to run a competition.
“The designs produced by the children were packed full of colour and imagination, so it was difficult to choose the winner. We settled on Gabrielle’s design because not only was it vibrant and well thought-out, but it lent itself particularly well to being transformed into the actual design of the block paving section.”
Gabrielle was invited to JT Dove Stockton’s branch, along with runner up, eightyear- old Kyle Parkin, to see her design come to fruition.
