TECHNOLOGY company Waterstons has helped a motor salvage company become one of a limited number to hold an internationallyrecognised information security certification.
Durham-based Waterstons helped National Salvage Amalgamation (NSA), the UK’s market leading motor salvage company, achieve the ISO 27001 accreditation.
The standard was developed to provide certification of secure working practices and information integrity within a business. By using the ISO 27001 framework to develop an information security management system, Waterstons ensured all aspects of security at NSA were considered and the risks involved in everything from data storage and transport to HR policies and technical IT security were reduced.
Richard O’Connor, Waterstons executive consultant, said: “Our team worked closely with NSA to ensure policies, procedures and technical implementations were created and delivered in line with the ISO 27001 guidelines.”
