A COMPANY that provides training for the construction industry has defied the recession by announcing an expansion of its premises.
SuperSkills Construction Training announced a 25 per cent expansion of its premises, at the Thirsk Rural Business Centre, this week.
The expansion will include a range of training courses.
Started in 2007, SuperSkills provides training in construction sector crafts.
Electrical and health and safety training courses will be available. To meet increasing demand for courses, Super- Skills is expanding it premises to create a total of 8,000 square feet of training space.
Chief executive Peter Walker said: “Over the past 12 months, demand for our services has rocketed.
“Part of this is because the challenging economic environment means that companies and consumers can afford to be choosy when it comes to selecting their contractors.”
New courses will include dry stone walling, lime plastering, portable appliance testing certification courses for electricians, health and safety and painting and decorating courses.
