LAW firm Dickinson Dees has won a place on the first panel of advisors selected by the London Boroughs Legal Alliance (LBLA).

Newcastle-based Dickinson Dees is the only law firm from the North- East to be represented on the 16- strong panel.

The firms have been appointed for three years to provide legal services to seven London boroughs who have clubbed together to pool their legal services to reduce costs.

About 150 law firms bid for the 16 places on the panel, and the councils involved believe the move will eventually save £1.4m a year.

Ian Ward, the client relationship partner at Dickinson Dees who will manage the contract, said: “This is a great honour for us and for the North-East, especially as we are the only law firm from the region on the panel. Once again, it demonstrates that Dickinson Dees is a major player on the national, as well as the regional stage.”

This appointment comes at a time when Dickinson Dees has also been selected to be part of the Outer London Boroughs Consortium.
