LEGAL firm TBI Solicitors has continued its practice of supporting North-East grassroots sport by sponsoring new shirts for a Tees Valley cricket club.
TBI has become shirt sponsor for Seaton Carew Cricket Club, which adds to its support of Barnard Castle, Hartlepool and Castle Eden cricket clubs, as well as a number of other sporting teams.
The firm – which has offices in Hartlepool, Wynyard Park, Stockton and Barnard Castle – has been involved with Seaton Carew Cricket Club for several years, and has agreed a two-year shirt sponsorship for its three senior teams.
In recognition of TBI’s ongoing support of the club, the junior teams will wear matching kit.
Brian Weatherall, chairman of Seaton Carew Cricket Club, said: “We greatly appreciate TBI Solicitors’ support. The firm is a great champion of cricket and sport in general, making a real difference to everyone who participates.
“Seaton Carew’s players now look like a team. You can tell that the players feel smarter and more professional as they step on to the pitch in their new shirts.”
Steven Horsley, partner with TBI Solicitors, said: “There are many teams being run by volunteers who put much of their time into coaching and encouraging young people to participate in sport.
“We’re really glad that our sponsorship can make a difference to young sports people across the North-East, and delighted that Seaton Carew’s teams enjoy playing in their new kit.
“We wish them ever success for the season.”
■ TBI Solicitors was awarded highly commended in the Business for Sport award at the 2008 Local Heroes Awards organised by The Northern Echo.
