THE outgoing regional director of ITV in the North-East has been appointed Dean of the University of Sunderland.
Graeme Thompson, who leaves his role with Tyne Tees at the end of this month, will begin his role as dean in August.
He said: “I am delighted to be involved with such a dynamic university and such a vibrant and ambitious faculty.
“The reputation of arts, design and media at Sunderland is already impressive.
“I aim to grow that reputation by building strong relationships with industry – locally, nationally and internationally.”
Professor David Fleming, deputy vice-chancellor of the university, said: “I’m delighted that Graeme will be joining us. He brings a wealth of practical experience and sound business credentials to this important role.”
Mr Thompson has held a number of roles at Tyne Tees, including head of news, director of broadcasting and managing director.
