LAW firm Sintons has formed a partnership with a North- East charity that supports disabled and disadvantaged children.
Soundbeam helps profoundly physically or learning- impaired people communicate using music and sound, which can stimulate learning and interaction in other areas.
The project is Newcastlebased Sintons’ chosen charity for this year, and the first donation was made from a quiz night and raffle. The money raised was matched by the firm’s partners and totalled more than £1,000.
Charles Penn, head of marketing at Sintons, said: “Every year our staff vote for a charity to support. Often, some of them already have a strong link with the chosen charity, which means there is always a high level of personal commitment to raise money.”
Sintons solicitor Lloyd Williams already had a link to Soundbeam, having joined the Northern regional committee last year and being actively involved in campaigns and events.
Bob Gladwin, chairman of the Variety Club in the North- East, said: “On behalf of the Northern region of the Variety Club children’s charity, I would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Sintons for their generosity, which will directly help improve the quality of life of disabled and disadvantaged children in our region.”
