A TECHNOLOGY firm specialising in the energy and construction sectors has secured its second £750,000 contract with a Spanish oil firm.
Cepsa is using software developed by Stockton-based Unasys to manage the construction of a major extension to its Huelva Refinery, in the south west of Spain.
This contract follows on from an initial contract for a similar value at Cepsa’s San Roque refinery.
The groundwork for the deals was struck during a trade visit to Spain organised by NOF Energy, the Durhambased national business development organisation for the oil, gas and energy sectors.
Mick Flynn, director of Unasys, said: “This is a second significant contract for Unasys and highlights the reputation our technology and services is achieving in the energy market.
“NOF Energy’s visit to Spain was the catalyst for winning this work and I would encourage any company in the supply chain looking to trade internationally to take part in one of the organisation’s visits.”
For the latest contract, Unasys will send four of its team to the project to liaise with Cepsa, provide training to site staff, and support the use of the technology.
Working in association with the British Embassy in Madrid, NOF organised visits to a number of significant locations in the Spanish energy market during the five-day trip.
