A WEB design agency has begun the search for its next apprentice following the success of last year’s recruit.
Sunderland-based Redup Digital Media appointed Ben Cooper last year and has been so impressed with his performance, it is looking to take on a second apprentice.
Earlier this week, 17-year old Ben met Sir Alan Sugar, star of TV series The Apprentice, at an event to highlight the business benefits of apprenticeship schemes.
Gavin Fawcett, Redup director, said he is a firm backer of recruiting apprentices.
“Hiring an apprentice is a cost effective way of introducing new blood into any business. It’s been a tremendous help to have someone like Ben who has taken on our business ethic and really delivered his objectives,” he said.
“We are now looking to recruit an apprentice for the web development side of the business.”
Ben was recruited through the North-East Chamber of Commerce (NECC).
Leanne Tully, NECC training recruitment co-ordinator, said: “Redup’s opening for a web developer is an ideal opportunity for anyone in the region looking to begin a successful career in this field. If Ben is anything to go by, then the position should be a really great chance for a new star to begin a fantastic career.”
