A LAW firm is offering businesses £100 to raise money for charity.
Dickinson Dees LLP, which has offices in the Tees Valley and Newcastle, wants businesses in the region to sign up to a challenge to convert £100 into as much money as possible over a period of weeks.
It is hoped that thousands of pounds will be raised for St Oswald’s Hospice, in Gosforth.
Dickinson Dees Enterprise Charity Challenge (DDECC) will officially begin in August, when businesses from across the region will be given £100 each by Dickinson Dees to invest with the hope of not only of winning the challenge itself, but raising vital funds for the hospice in the process.
Robin Bloom, senior partner at the law firm, said: “This challenge is designed to test the investment and planning strategies of the local business community, while supporting a very worthy cause.
“As the challenge presents a no-risk, yet competitive and creative opportunity to those taking part, we’re hoping to attract many more businesses over the coming weeks before the challenge begins.”
Ideas put forward so far include spending the £100 to buy materials needed to grow chillies, including one of the world’s hottest varieties, which would then be sold at a profit.
