AN engineering consultancy is continuing its growth by expanding into new premises and taking on more staff.
Family-run Parsec Consulting Engineers, set up in Darlington six years ago, has grown steadily since its inception.
As a result of its progress, Parsec has been able to increase its workforce to seven, and has moved to offices on the town’s Grange Road to accommodate its expansion.
Shaun Ackerley, managing director of Parsec – who runs the company with wife Beverley, the company’s financial and administrative director – said: “Despite the tough trading conditions, we are cautiously optimistic and look forward to a healthy year ahead.”
The company has been helped since its inception by Business Link.
Mr Ackerley said: “From having the initial business idea, right through to growing the company and relocating, the support and cash that Business Link has sourced for us really has helped.”
Suzanne Henty, the couple’s Business Link account manager, said: “Shaun and Beverley are excellent examples of individuals who have realised their ambitions of self-employment, and to start, sustain and grow their business. They really epitomise entrepreneurship at its best.”
