TWO of the region’s leading architects have retired after amassing a total of 73 years in the industry.
Les Hodgson and Derek Hoad are retiring as partners and directors of Browne Smith Baker practice, which has four offices in Darlington, Newcastle, Leeds and Hull, and employs 55 people. Mr Hodgson has been with the company since 1972, with projects including the Hebburn Village Regeneration Project – the biggest of its time.
Mr Hoad has worked on projects including a hospital in Middlesbrough.
