A TYNESIDE lighting company has won a £1.5m deal to illuminate the region’s newest luxury resort.
Rockliffe Hall, the hotel, golf and spa development which will open in Hurworth, near Darlington, later this year, has appointed KLS Lighting Design to work on its interior and exterior lights.
The 18th Century country house is undergoing a £50m refurbishment to create a 61- bedroomed luxury hotel – the region’s second five-star resort, after Seaham Hall.
Kristina Simpson, owner of KLS Lighting Design said: “The lighting scheme is about complimenting the architecture and interior design and it’s my job to make their building look even better.”
Nick Holmes, managing director of Rockliffe Hall, said: “The correct lighting of an establishment of this nature is something that can make the difference between an ordinary and an unforgettable experience.
“Superior lighting is so often overlooked and we’re thrilled to have found someone of Kristina’s talents almost on our doorstep.”
