A QUESTION Time-style debate on tomorrow’s Budget will be broadcast from a regenerated business park.

Lingfield Point in Darlington will host the event organised by Arlington Financial and the Tees Valley committee of the Institute of Directors to discuss the implications of the Budget.

There will be speakers from the main political parties and panellists from the business world including John Orchard, director of Lingfield Point owners Marchday, Allan Cook, director of Arlington Financial and Alastair Thomson, Tees Valley Committee chairman, Institute of Directors.

Mr Orchard said: “Businesses across all sectors are waiting in anticipation for the Chancellor’s speech to see if it will offer a glimmer of hope in these tough times. At Lingfield Point, we have taken the decision to continue to invest in the future of the business park rather than wait for better economic indicators.

“To meet people from all sectors of business to dissect the proposals will be extremely interesting and the televised format will allow many others to share in our deliberations and opinions.”

Alastair Thomson, Tees Valley Committee chairman, Institute of Directors, said: “We are pleased to be working with Marchday and Arlington Financial in this inventive debate and discussion on the Budget at a time when the economy is in the forefront of every business person’s thinking. I am anticipating a very stimulating discussion.”

The web TV programme will be filmed on Thursday with members of an invited audience posing questions to the panellists.

The programme will be filmed in the Meadow at Lingfield Point, one of the largest single storey office buildings in the North of England. The debate will be broadcast on broadbandtvchannel.co.uk
