A CENTRE run by a training charity for the oil and gas sector has reached a safety milestone.
TTE Technical Training Group’s centre at the Wilton International Site, near Redcar, east Cleveland, has notched up two million hours without a lost-time accident.
The achievement involved every worker, trainee and visiting contractor to the centre, which attracts hundreds of trainees and technicians a year.
Commercial business director Phil Blewitt said: “The attainment of two million hours without a lost-time accident is a substantial achievement, especially as the centre trains a wide variety of engineering and operations technicians from all over the world who have differing levels of safety training and practical industrial experience.
“From a trainee’s perspective, to train at a centre with such an outstanding safety record and stringent safety procedures in place will enable them to transfer these vital values when they return to their places of work.”
