A FAMILY-owned transport firm based in Billingham has scooped a top accolade at a national awards ceremony.

For the fifth year in a row Devereux Transport was crowned Depot of the Year award at the Fortec Distribution Network awards.

This category, one of six awards presented on the night, is the only category voted for by the network members themselves – designed to recognise a fellow member of the pallet network who has been particularly supportive and who consistently goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.

Nick Vallance, Chair of the Fortec Network Board, presented the award on the night, saying: “This family owned business provides excellent levels of customer service both internally and externally.

"The whole team are honest, up front, accept responsibility if anything goes awry and are much loved by the whole Network.”

Andy Smith, transport manager of Devereux Transport, said: “This award is thanks to the whole team. "We all work together and support each other with exceptional drivers who are out on the road, and our committed focus on customer service.”

The Fortec Distribution Network awards, in their sixteenth year, are designed to celebrate good practice in the logistics and transport sector.
