AN ICONIC Richmond hotel which was put into administration before Christmas last year is set to re-opened under new management next weekend.
The Fleece, in Victoria Road, Richmond, was closed after being open for less than 18 months.
It has been taken over by a new company, and will be run by general manager Daniel Williams, who has previously worked for Punch Taverns and the Bolton Arms in Leyburn.
The Fleece will re-open its doors on Sunday, May 5 where customers will be able to view new menus and its new interior.
Food will be served from midday and evening platters will be available to be enjoyed with live music later in the day.
The restaurant is set to open ahead of the hotel, which will be completed in coming months.
A new company has been formed, The Fleece Hotel (Richmond) Ltd. The sole director, Christopher Miles, is also a director of Delcon Construction Limited, who it is understood were investors in the original redevelopment of the hotel.
Within Reach Developments Ltd, which carried out the building’s restoration, is currently in administration.
The previous company running the hotel and restaurant, Best Friend Limited, collapsed with debts of more than £230,000.
Papers revealed there were 71 creditors, including members of staff, suppliers, directors and others, who were owed a total of £239,812.
