A DELEGATION of leading European chemical site managers has visited the Tees Valley to find out more about the industry-leading companies.

About 20 representatives from the European Chemical Site Promotion Platform held a seminar at the Wilton Centre, on Teesside, and visited the multi-company Wilton International site, managed by SembCorp Utilities UK, and PD Ports' operation at Teesport.

The delegates are looking at Europe's long-term role in the global chemical business, increasing awareness of the advantages of investing in Europe and ensuring its profile remains high on the global investment map.

Patrick Pogue, SembCorp's commercial business development manager, said: "Members were very impressed. For some, it was the first time they had seen the scale of operations at Wilton and heard about the £1bn of investment in the past ten years.
