A WEB design and marketing media development company set up by a couple at home has moved to new premises.

Award-winning Atomic Web Solutions was launched in 2002 by David and Claire Glynn, in Chester-le-Street, County Durham, and has since attracted an international client base.

Due to its growing workload, Atomic has moved into renovated offices in North Road, Boldon, South Tyneside, with room for up to five staff.

It received support from South Tyneside Means Business, a £16.2m programme responsible for encouraging businesses to start, grow and locate in South Tyneside. Atomic was given a £10,000 grant from South Tyneside Means Business through South Tyneside Borough Council.

Mr Glynn said: "Without this money, it would have been impossible for the business to grow and we are now looking to employ a full-time web programmer and web designer due to the increasing volume of work.

"Growing the business from scratch and working for yourself is very challenging, but being able to control the destiny of your own business is extremely rewarding, rather than being a small cog in a sometimes badly-managed machine."
