A MARKET research company is planning to increase turnover by 50 per cent by expanding nationally after establishing itself in Yorkshire.

Explain, based in Newcastle, has secured a series of high-profile clients in Yorkshire in recent months, including Yorkshire Building Society.

The company has worked with Skipton Building Society for several years, and is looking to build on its presence in the area.

Explain is planning to expand further in the UK, and increase its turnover by half during the next year.

Chief executive David Shiel said: "We have worked with Skipton Building Society for more than four years, and our campaigns to help them gain insight into customer behaviour in different markets have developed our expertise in the financial services arena.

"We recently won Yorkshire Building Society and Skipton Financial Services, making us a key player in the Yorkshire research market."

Explain, which employs 16 staff at Leazes Park Road, in Newcastle, also recently helped Yorkshire-based retailer Asda launch its financial services product range.

Mr Shiel said: "Because of the nature of our work, our services can be rolled out anywhere in the country and we look forward to gaining a foothold in other areas following our current success in Yorkshire."
