FORENSICS company Roar Particles is looking to elevate its market-leading technology on to a global scale by meeting some of the world's most prominent scientists.

The company, based at NetPark, hosted a visit from a group of scientists from Asia as part of Roar's research partnership with Singapore.

Roar signed a $2m Singapore (£650,000) deal with the country's Nanyang Technological University and the Singapore Economic Development Board in June last year, to help develop its techniques further.

The company, which was set up last year, is already a market leader in the field of nanotechnology, and has developed techniques to identify chemicals in fingerprints such as nicotine, drugs and traces of terrorist activity.

To help in its mission, Roar's chief scientific officer, Professor Fred Rowell, met Asian academics Professor Ma Jan, Angelina Lim Yimei, and Dr Matthew Benton, who is co-ordinating the project between Roar and the Singapore bodies.

Joe Arend, chief executive of Roar, said: "We have a very strong working relationship with our colleagues in Singapore and this has been a great opportunity for the teams to work together in our advanced facilities at NetPark."
