Ian Radley is relocating from Albany, New York's capital, to lead operations for Durham Scientific Crystals, based in Netpark, near Sedgefield, County Durham.
The 50-year-old, who graduated in physics and chemistry at Durham University, was director of advanced product development for X-Ray Optical Systems Inc (XOS).

Durham Scientific Crystals has appointed him technical operations director, responsible for operational aspects of product and technology development and day-to-day running of the plant.
The company produces semi-conductor materials, which are revolutionising digital x-ray technology.
