AN adventure holiday company is gearing up for a global push after receiving £100,000 funding.
Undiscovered Destinations, based in North Shields, North Tyneside, has been given £40,000 by Evolve Finance to fund a revamp of its website and allow it to attend next year's Daily Telegraph Adventure Travel Show.
It follows funding of £60,000 earlier this year for improvements to the company's product range and marketing.
Undiscovered Destinations, set up in 2005, organises individual and small group tours to some of the least-visited countries in the world.
Destinations include Angola, Gabon, Congo, Eritrea, Oman, Panama and the Ukraine.
Jim Louth, the firm's owner, said he wants to improve marketing in the UK and internationally. He said: "The initial backing of Evolve Finance enabled us to step up our marketing and spread the word about our services."
Joanne Pratt, investment executive at Evolve Finance, said: "The firm has an excellent product and anyone coming into contact with the company will be impressed by Jim's in-depth knowledge of the destinations and expeditions in his portfolio.
"Interest is growing daily, not least because of the increased focus on ethical businesses and this one in particular certainly deserves to thrive."
