A WOOD recycling company on Teesside has marked its first anniversary by presenting a local children's hospice with a cheque for £1,300.
UK Wood Recycling (UKWR), based in Redcar, east Cleveland, has donated the money to Zoe's Place, a hospice in Middlesbrough that provides respite, palliative and terminal care for young children.
Gary Jones, UKWR site manager, said: "The guys here were keen that we support Zoe's Place as it's a local cause that does tremendous work and makes a huge difference to a lot of people's lives."
The company was established in July last year to provide biomass fuel made from recycled wood to the SembCorp Biomass Power Station, at Wilton. UKWR also produces a number of recycled products, including animal bedding.
