THE owner of a new hair salon has signed up to take part in the inaugural Durham Big Ride next month.
Amanda Craine, pictured, who recently opened HAIR 4U in Durham city's indoor market, is taking part in the biking event to raise the profile of her business.
She said: "For a new salon in any city, it is important to become part of the business community as quickly as possible. Offering a bike as a donation to the event organisers, as well as taking part in the ride itself, I feel, is the best way to get involved."
Hundreds of cyclists will complete a 25-mile course around the city on Sunday, September 16. To take part, go to www.durhambigride.co. uk
