A PRINTING company, which has traded in the region for more than 150 years, was last night placed into administration.
Twenty people out of the 25 employed by Ward Philipson Group, based on Gateshead's Dunston Industrial Estate, Tyneside, have been made redundant after the company hit financial difficulties.
Ward Philipson blamed its demise on the high level of competition in the photographic industry and the constant changes in technology having a huge cost burden on the company.
Its photographic division has been wound up by administrator North-East Tenon Recovery, but its arts and crafts business is continuing to trade, and the search for a buyer is under way.
