CONSTRUCTION group Frank Haslam Milan (FHM) North East is doing its bit for the environment in the run-up to National Recycling Week, which starts on Monday.
The firm is collecting its glass water bottles and taking them to Sunderland's National Glass Centre, where they will be transformed into a contemporary piece of art for FHM's newly-refurbished office in Deptford, Sunderland.
The company has also set up a corporate social responsibility team to introduce a number of initiatives to reduce FHM's impact on the environment.
By exploring new methods of waste disposal, the firm now recycles about 85 per cent of its waste from site, compared to an industry average of 50 per cent.
Marketing manager Carla Fisher said: "Through this unique project with the National Glass Centre, we hope to raise awareness to the importance of recycling and demonstrate how easy it is for companies to do their bit."
