AN award-winning pie maker has been chosen to represent the finest of Yorkshire cuisine.
Wensleydale Foods has been selected by Deliciously Yorkshire, which represents locally-sourced Yorkshire foods, to carry the logo of the Yorkshire Food Group on its produce.
Wensleydale Foods managing director Elizabeth Guy said: "We are proud of our heritage - being a company based in the heart of the county, employing local people and using meat from local farms.
"Putting the logo on the packaging confirms our commitment to Yorkshire and what we stand for."
Wensleydale Foods - last year crowned one of the UK's top ten new businesses at an HSBC awards ceremony - specialises in making traditional foods with no additives.
Mrs Guy yesterday announced the launch of two new varieties of pie to add to the Beth Guy's Little Pies range - fish with peas in a parsley and lemon sauce and Yorkshire pork with apples.
"We launched Beth Guy's Pies almost two years ago and felt the time was right to add a couple of new varieties," she said.
