CONSTRUCTION consultancy RNJ has won a £6m contract to work on five housing schemes across the region.
The deal will see Newcastle-based RNJ work in conjunction with Endeavour Housing Association, and will involve projects in Teesside and Tyne and Wear.
In the two-year agreement, a ten-apartment development will be built in Houghton-le-Spring, east Durham, and 13 flats and two bungalows with wheelchair access will be built in Jarrow, South Tyneside.
As part of a larger development for Yuill Homes, RNJ and Endeavour will also build two two-bedroomed homes and eight three-bedroomed homes in Middlesbrough, and will work with Hartlepool Revival on 13 bungalows in the town.
Another project in the contract builds on two previous phases of work carried out in Hardwick, Stockton, where RNJ is building 20 flats in a two and three-storey block.
In the projects, collectively worth more than £6m, RNJ will take on duties including the roles of employer's agent, quantity surveyor, asbestos surveyor and client representative.
RNJ partner Andrew Knowles said: "These projects see RNJ continue to raise its presence in the south of the region, and they add to our wide experience in housing association contracts."
