A NORTH-EAST construction firm has completed £4.4m work on a motorway service site, which bosses say has supported more than 70 jobs.
Clugston Construction, which has offices in Hebburn, South Tyneside, built a truck-stop and lorry park on the A1 at Leeming, in North Yorkshire.
The company previously said the project, for Exelby Services, would deliver 70 posts and a further 15 once the services started operating.
It replaced the former Londonderry Garage.
Steve Waggett, Clugston Construction’s North-East regional business manager, said: “Our team delivered a high quality facility for Exelby Services by working with clients to deliver value for money without compromise on quality.”
Clugston's construction division is part of the wider Clugston Group, which also operates Clugston Distribution.
That business has a base in Billingham, near Stockton, and focuses on moving fuels and powders.
