A SHOPPING centre has created scores of seasonal jobs ahead of the Christmas period.

The Cornmill Shopping Centre, in Darlington, says retailers, including Primark and HMV, have taken on 88 staff for the festive season.

Bosses say posts include temporary sales assistants and stockroom workers, adding all of the centre’s outlets are now occupied.

Susan Young, centre manager, added: “We’re delighted almost 90 new jobs will be created in the run up to Christmas, as retailers gear up for their busiest couple of months of the year.”
