A FATHER and son team are aiming to deliver more success with an investment of more than £100,000.
Anthony Redpath and son Alex run Darlington postal firm POBoxes.com.
The company offers postal and call-handling services to individuals and businesses needing to maintain a permanent address, mail scanning, forwarding services, a phone answering service and a virtual office PO box service.
It has now launched an app allowing people access to mail through smart phones and tablets after IT investor Richard Win hammer offered his financial backing.
The firm has also opened a new Darlington office, and is looking to recruit a mail handler, as it continues its expansion.
Last year, The Northern Echo revealed it had attracted work from Russia, New Zealand and Australia, and has more than 250 global customers.
Mr Redpath Jr said: “We were thrilled when Richard saw our business’ potential and invested more than £100,000.
“A fraction of this money has gone towards developing our app and the rest of the investment will go towards sustaining our growth.
“It’s great to be running a North-East company that's leading the way in post box services.
“With the rise in popularity of smart phones and tablets, we knew this was the perfect opportunity to drive our business forward.”
The company now aims to introduce an overseas franchise model and hopes to create more jobs in the North-East.
