A TRAINING body has appointed a new UK and Europe technical training manager.
TTE, based in Middlesbrough, has welcomed Alan Wallace to the role.
Mr Wallace, from Yarm, joins from the National Apprenticeship Service, where he headed the organisation’s North-East apprenticeship unit, working with employers and learners.
He also previously worked for the Learning and Skills Council, the North East Training and Enterprise Council and the Manpower Services Commission.
As TTE’s technical training manager, bosses say he will play a key role in its growth plans, working to ensure it continues meeting the requirements of oil and gas, engineering, manufacturing and process sector firms for apprenticeships and raising workforce skills.
He said: “TTE has an excellent reputation for the quality of its training and facilities and I was delighted to be given the opportunity to join.
“The opportunities TTE’s provision offers to individuals and to employers are second to none, enabling it to have a positive impact on the skills requirements of industry.”
Steve Grant, TTE managing director, added: “With skills challenges becoming increasingly acute in a number of sectors, it’s important for organisations like us to be able to provide employers with specialist support to meet their training requirements.
“Alan’s wealth of experience and particularly his relationships with businesses will be a major asset in helping develop apprenticeships and upskilling opportunities for UK and international industry.”
TTE also designs, operates and manages technical training facilities in overseas locations, including Azerbaijan, Ghana and Oman.
