A VIDEO game company has secured a deal to work with a Japanese mobile games firm on a racing challenge.

Eutechnyx, in Gateshead, is partnering Crooz on its ACR Drift platform.

The game gives players the chance to drive more than 50 supercars across street tracks in locations such as Moscow, Hong Kong, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Darren Jobling, Eutechnyx chief executive, said the partnership would allow the firm to build on its own Auto Club Revolution game.

He said: “By partnering with Crooz, we are able to vastly broaden the reach and appeal of the Auto Club Revolution brand, creating fresh gameplay experiences tailored to new platforms and new markets.”

Earlier this year, Eutechnyx, which employs more than 100 workers, launched its ETX Racing label, with Nascar 14 the first game under the title.

It is also working on ZeroLight, which offers motorists virtual 3D showrooms to view their perfect car.

The system is used by luxury car marques to projects a full-size replica of models to the buyer, who can tailor it without driving or sitting in the vehicle.
