BUS and train operator Arriva yesterday announced its market performance remained "robust" after recording half-year profits earlier this year.
The Sunderland-based group said it continued to perform well, and was trading in line with expectations, after a five per cent rise in operating profits to £56.8m was announced in September.
Its bus division - whose half-year revenues rose by £27.2m to £365.2m, leading to operating profits of £31m - continued to put in a "healthy" performance.
Arriva employs about 80 people at its Sunderland head office and about 33,000 across Europe.
It said it was constantly reassessing ways to improve its bus market.
