UP to 1,000 jobs could be created in North Yorkshire if plans are approved for a multi-million pound technology park.
Northminster Properties Ltd has exhibited its plans for the park, which would be built close to the A64 Leeds to Scarborough road, near Malton.
Andrew Eccles, director of Leeds-based Northminster, said: "We had a good response and some encouraging reaction."
About 30 acres of farmland, owned by the Fitzwilliam Estate near Edenhouse Road and Eden Camp, has been earmarked for the scheme which Mr Eccles believes could provide Ryedale's economy with a boost by providing jobs for the whole district.
He also believes that forging links with the York Science Park, at Heslington, would be one of the keys to success for the Ryedale Technology Park.
"Malton is seen as a potential hub to link with York's economy," he said.
"While there will be no heavy manufacturing on the site, it will have businesses which will be in the advanced engineering sector as well as technology and small office developments.
"The site scores highly on many counts, not least on the employment land review report carried out by consultants Knight Frank for Ryedale District Council earlier this year."
