TRANSPORT group Hargreaves Services yesterday said it expected to report strong half-year results compared with last year.
In a trading update, the County Durham company, which provides transport and support services to the energy and waste sectors, said it continued to achieve excellent organic growth.
Hargreaves, which bought rival Norec Limited, of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, for £5.5m in September, also said it was actively pursuing other acquisitions.
In a statement, the company said: "Following the acquisition of Norec, and the award of a number of major additional contracts, it is anticipated that results for the second half of the year will be significantly ahead of the comparative period last year."
Hargreaves employs about 1,400 people, including more than 200 at its head office in Esh Winning.
