A FORMER newspaper boss has joined the board of Darlington Building Society.
Bob Cuffe's appointment as a non-executive director was confirmed at the mutual's annual general meeting as Chris Fleetwood retired after 17 years on the board, the last four as chairman. James Ramsbotham, the Society’s vice-chairman was elected to replace him and the new vice-chairman is Alison Thain, the group chief executive of Fabrick Housing Group.
Mr Cuffe, who left his role as managing director of ncjMedia last year, said: “I am passionate about promoting the successes of north east based businesses and we are fortunate indeed to have based in our region a local building society dedicated to looking after local interests."
