A FAMILY-OWNED chemical firm, which makes products used in antiseptics and disinfectants, has launched a system to increase its global presence.
Thomas Swan and Co, based in Consett, County Durham, has developed the CygNET software system that will allow it to meet customer demand and give clients greater information on products.
The company, which employs about 140 workers, was founded in 1926, and makes chemicals used in hair dyes and resins for the tyre industry.
Jo Hind, sales and relationship support executive, said: “We have developed something that is unmatched anywhere else in the industry, and the fact customers will be able to produce reports around their orders is hugely beneficial in these challenging times.”
The firm exports to more than 80 countries, with in the US and China, and previously unveiled plans to invest in its plant with new glass reactors and a turbo dryer to win more orders.
