A NORTH-EAST technology company is celebrating after playing its own part in the success of a football team at a showpiece final.
Map Group (UK), a satellite broadband and LED lighting provider, based in Stockton, sponsors Bradford City, who beat Northampton Town in the League Two play-off final at Wembley.
It is the second time this season that the family-run business, formed in 1993, has received national exposure, after the Yorkshire club reached the Capital One Cup final against Swansea City, in February, at the same ground.
The firm took over from Bradford and Bingley Building Society as the club's principal sponsor in 2009, when one of its directors, who hails from the city, saw an opportunity to back the team.
Director Matthew Carlin previously told The Northern Echo the company was delighted with its, and the team's, successes.
He said: “We have certainly seen a rise in the awareness of our brand and what we do, and it has been fantastic to see our name in front of thousands of fans.”
