NORTH-EAST marketing communications agency Guerilla took the Global Brand Strategy of the Year award at the Drum Marketing Awards.
The firm was nominated for its creative strategic work with The Phoenix Group one of Europe’s largest pharmaceutical wholesalers.
Guerilla was the only agency in the North-East to triumph at the ceremony, where nominees included brands such as Samsung, BT, Mercedes, Danone and the BBC.
James Allen, managing director at Guerilla, said: “It is a great feeling to be the only North-East agency to come away with an award, especially as we were up against very high profile brands. Beating the competition is testament to the efforts by and quality of the team."
Max Schwesig, head of corporate retail at The Phoenix Group added: “We appointed Guerilla, following stiff competition from some of the biggest branding agencies in Europe, to create and deliver a single umbrella brand name and identity solution. Guerilla understood what we needed and delivered exactly the results we wanted."
The accolade follows other recent success for the Newcastle-based agency. Last month, it was listed as one of the Top 50 Design Agencies in the UK following an independent survey carried out by The Drum. Guerilla was the only North-East company to make it into the rankings.
