A MULTI-NATIONAL engineering services firm was welcomed to its new home at a North-East business park today (October 23) as it reaffirmed its commitment to the region.
Staff at Lingfield Point, in Darlington, handed out sweet treats and information in a Freshers’ Fair-style event to staff from Amec, which has begun moving 500 staff to the business park from nearby premises at Yarm Road Industrial Estate.
The new site will give Amec - one of Darlington's biggest employers - the space to expand its operations in the town.
The company has been on the look-out for new offices as the lease on its existing premises was about to expire. It will be based at Meadow, a 50,000sq ft office space that has been used to host conferences.
Jo Clapham, vice president for human resources at the global consultancy firm said: “Amec is pleased to be on site at Lingfield Point. Our employees are quickly becoming part of the Lingfield family and are looking forward to exploring all that Lingfield has to offer at today’s Freshers Fair.”
