Steph Brawn
Multimedia Political Journalist
I'm a political journalist for The National. As well as reporting on key political news, I have particular interests in public health, mental health, sport (especially Scottish rugby!) and the growth of republicanism across the UK. I have been a journalist for nearly nine years, most of which have been in Scotland after I moved here from my hometown of Sandbach in Cheshire in 2017. The following year, I was nominated for Young Journalist of the Year at the Scottish Press Awards. After working in local news for six years, The National was my first step into national news and I couldn't imagine working for another title. The values of the paper sing with mine and its ethos of being innovative and ambitious allows the team to have the freedom to explore topics they have a keen interest in, as well as the pressing issues of the day. I am a proud English Scot for Yes and always will be. Let's get it done.
