RITCHIE Humphreys swept the board at Hartlepool United's player of the year awards - taking home four honours, including the Player of the Century accolade.

Humphreys, into his eighth year at Victoria Park won the supporters' association away player of the year award, the player of the year award, was voted the best player of the decade (2000s) and then capped his night off with the Player of the Century award.

Brian Honour was third and Watty Moore second in the centenary voting.

Humphreys moved to Pools in 2001 and made a record 234 consecutive Football League appearances.

He stands eighth in the all-time appearance list with 357 games to his name.

"Getting one honour was a great feeling, but to walk away with four - including the overall award at the end of the night . . . words can't describe how I feel,'' he admitted.

"There's so many great players to have played for this club - and I've been privileged to have appeared alongside some of them.''
