DARLINGTON manager Dave Penney last night completed the loan signing of out-of-favour Hull City man Scott Wiseman for the remainder of the season, writes lee hall.
The 21-year-old will go straight into the Quakers squad for tomorrow's League Two encounter at Rochdale.
Penney has been keen to strengthen his right-sided options and Wiseman, who has not played for Hull this season, fits the bill.
The Hull-born player can play at full-back and in midfield, and primarily will provide competition for Brian Close at right-back.
Close was dropped from the side recently, and midfielder Dave Rowson has been preferred in Darlington's last two games.
Wiseman is in line to start at Spotland after arriving from the KC Stadium as Quakers look to close the four-point gap separating them from the play-off places.
If he does start then Darlington's back four could consist solely of loan signings, with David Wheater, Ian Miller and Evan Horwood all expected to keep their places.
The arrival of Wiseman leaves Penney with one remaining loan before the March 22 deadline.
And the Quakers boss is expected to make a further addition to his squad within the next fortnight.
The arrival of Wiseman takes the number of former Boston players to have played for Darlington this season to six - seven including Rowson's loan spell at York Street.
Wiseman made two loan appearances for the Pilgrims in 2005.
But, despite breaking into the Hull first-team last season, Wiseman has found it difficult to break into Phil Brown's plans during the current campaign.
The player was loaned out to Rotherham at the beginning of the season, scoring one goal in 21 appearances at Millmoor.
Meanwhile, Darren Holloway will be unavailable tomorrow after pulling up with a hamstring problem in training, while Carlos Logan will see a specialist with a groin injury.
