I SHARE Cllr Heather Scott’s concern about the money wasted in preparing the Dolphin Centre for the now (thankfully) aborted transfer of library services there (Echo, Sept 5).
Of equal concern are the legal costs incurred by the council in fighting public opposition to the project.
Solicitors don’t come cheap (you bet they don’t). All in all, an inexcusable and expensive mess.
Ironic, given that the purported reason for the move was to make economies.
Honestly, is Darlington council fit for purpose?
