A CHARITY set up to help in the fight against bowel cancer has announced it is hosting its first two-day music event.
Music v Cancer, which was set up by Hartlepool man Tony Larkin after he was diagnosed with the illness in September 2009, regularly hosts Live Sessions where stars from across the music spectrum perform.
And after seeing the popularity of the events continue to rise, he decided to double up and organise Music V Cancer’s first Weekender gig, for which tickets are now on sale.
He said: “The last Live Sessions event we held proved so popular with more than 150 of the 180 tickets sold in just two days. So we thought it was the right time to go bigger and host a two-day music event which we are really excited about. It’s going to be cracking and we’ve got a fantastic line-up confirmed for both nights too.”
The MvC Weekender Live Sessions are on Friday and Saturday, April 5 and 6, at The Grand Hotel in Hartlepool.
Confirmed artists include Jack Savoretti, who this March is touring with Jake Bugg, Al Lewis, Jonny The Firth and Hayley Gafternick, who will perform on the opening night, while on the second night Chris Helme, James Craise and Liz Lawrence will all take to the stage.
Tickets for each night are priced £15 and can be purchased by calling The Grand Hotel on 01429-266345 or emailing tony@musicvcancer.com
