CYCLISTS are being encouraged to get pedalling by taking part in a variety of events during Darlington Bike Week.
Events begin on Sunday with a women-only ride, meeting in Darlington Market Square, at 10am. The ride will be for two hours and includes a picnic stop.
On Wednesday, there will be an evening ride to Walworth Gate. Anyone wanting to take part in this two-hour ride can meet in Darlington Market Square at 6.30pm.
An hour-long ride, starting from the Town Hall at 12.15pm, will be held on Thursday.
On Sunday, June 25, a charity Bikeathon takes place in South Park. The ride is in aid of Leukaemia Research, and starts from the main park entrance in Park Place from 10.30am to 11.30am.
There will also be a free try-out session at a bike show on Saturday, July 1, at Darlington Town Hall, from 10am to 4pm.
Most events are suitable for all ages and abilities, but under-16s must be accompanied.
